  9. What is your question?

  1. Does HIM always comply with all threshold values of the German Clean Air Regulations?

Yes! Emission measurements show that the levels are well below the required threshold values, in some cases they are only 10% of the threshold value.

  2. How high is the temperature in the rotary furnaces in the special waste incinerators?

Waste is incinerated at a temperature of over 1200°C and converted into chemically stable slag.

  3. In what fields is HIM active?

HIM specialises in special waste disposal, remediation, environmental analyses, and waste disposal logistics and also offers regular training.

  4. Is HIM a certified company?

Yes: All HIM's treatment plants are certified specialised waste disposal plants and HIM also has a certified environmental management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001 for its Wiesbaden and Biebesheim locations.

  5. What is special waste?

Under the Recycling and Waste Act, special waste is waste that requires special monitoring because of its danger. Special waste, for example, is old paint or lacquers, sand traps and oil separators, oil-polluted resources and waste from local authority special waste collections.

  6. What does HIM stand for?

The company was founded in 1972 as Hessische Industriemüll GmbH. At the beginning of 2000 HIM acquired SBW (special waste disposal Baden-Württemberg) with locations in Stuttgart and Billigheim. The name "Hesse Industriemüll" was no longer "quite right". Since then our company name has been HIM GmbH; our customers, partners and neighbours have known us as HIM for years.

  7. What is DIN EN ISO 14001 and for how long is HIM's certificate valid?

This international standard is a collection of regulations for designing environmentally-relevant sequences. Many companies around the world are already working to this standard. The regulations are used to plan and control all activities which can have an effect on the environment. Gerling Cert carries out an audit every year and in June 2004 there will be a repeat audit to renew or extend the certificate's validity for a further three years. In addition, internal audits take place every year which serve to determine whether the rules of the management system are being complied with, whether they are suitable and effective and conform to the requirements of ISO 14001.

  8. Why does HIM have 8 customer teams?

The individual customer teams specialise in defined branches and are thus able to solve customers' specific waste problems competently.
