  5. What does the name HIM stand for?

The company was founded under the name Hessische Industriem?ll GmbH in 1972. At the beginning of the year 2000, HIM took over the company SBW (Sonderabfallentsorgung Baden-W?rttemberg) with locations in Stuttgart and Billigheim. The name „Hessische Industriem?ll“ no longer was a good fit. We have been operating under the name HIM GmbH ever since; our customers, partners and neighbours have known us as HIM for many years.

  6. What is DIN EN ISO 14001 and how long is the HIM certificate valid?

This international standard is a body of rules that defines processes relevant to the environment. Many companies around the world have implemented this standard. The rules serve to plan and control all activities that can have an impact on the environment. An annual compliance audit is conducted by licensed auditors. Annual internal audits are also conducted in order to ensure that the rules of the management system are followed, suitable, effective and in accordance with ISO 14001 requirements.

  7. What is hazardous waste?

According to the Recycling and Waste Management Act, hazardous waste is waste that poses a risk based on its characteristics. Examples of hazardous waste include expired lacquers and paints, grit chamber trappings and oil trap contents, materials contaminated with oil and materials accumulated at municipal hazardous substance collection centres.
